Thomas M. Dafnos, CFP®

A 1971 cum laude graduate of Ohio State University, Thomas M. Dafnos has been consulting in business development and financial planning for over 25 years.  A specialist in succession and estate planning, Tom received his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 1990.

Tom has been the senior partner at Capital Analysts of the Midwest since 1989.  He works specifically with the owners of private held companies with significant net worth on succession planning, estate planning and deferred giving techniques.

From the very beginning of his career, Tom has qualified at the highest levels of recognition from numerous financial services companies.  He is currently a charter member and annual qualifier for the Circle of Excellence of Capital Analysts, Inc.  He speaks regularly at national conferences and conventions and currently serves as a resource for advanced planning for the national field force of Capital Analysts.  He sits on the board of several Private Foundations and faith based ministries including Truth @ Work, a national ministry teaching business owners solid faith-based business and financial strategies.

Tom also serves as the President of URrelay, Inc. a technology company that specializes in communication for Deaf and Hard of Hearing citizens of the United States.

Tom and his wife Martha reside in Fishers, Indiana, where both are involved with various church, civic and arts organizations.  They have two daughters, Amy and Sarah, and three grandchildren.

Brent T. Dunn, CFP®

Brent T. Dunn graduated Indiana University in 1980, with a degree in Finance. He earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 1985.

Between 1990 and 2002, Brent was a Senior Consultant with Renaissance, a firm specializing in charitable trusts and foundations.  During this period Brent helped financial planners, estate planning attorneys, and accountants design and implement over 1,000 charitable trusts and foundations.  Brent started his private practice and became a part owner of Capital Analysts of the Midwest, Inc. in 2002.

Brent provides comprehensive fee based financial planning, investment management, estate planning, and charitable planning.  Brent’s unique experience allows him to skillfully integrate financial, estate, and charitable planning, helping financially successful individuals improve their own financial position, improve their estate plan, save tremendous taxes during life and at death, and give more (often far more) to their church or other favorite charities.

Brent and his wife and three children live in Fishers, where they are active in church and community service.  Brent serves on the board of Riverview Hospital Foundation, and serves several other charitable organizations and foundations.

Thomas L. Mayer, AIF®

Tom graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Counseling and Planning.  He began his career with Banc One Securities Corporation in Northwest Indiana before joining Capital Analysts of the Midwest. 

In 2003, Tom formed the 401(k) team @ CAMI with Steve Wylam.  Acting together, they serve as independent advisors that adhere to a process driven model that provides customized solutions to plan sponsors regarding 401(k) plan design, employee education and motivation, fiduciary support, as well as, investment selection and monitoring services.  The 401(k) team @ CAMI acts as the “point guard” of the retirement planning team whereby providing personal attention to each client that infuses confidence in the plan sponsors trustees and staff.  Tom’s goal is to invest in the education of his client’s employees to personally help them to achieve their retirement goals.

In 2007, Tom received the designation of Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) from the Joseph M. Katz School of Business, University of Pittsburgh.  Tom became a partner in the firm Capital Analysts of the Midwest, Inc. (CAMI) in 2008.  He is also an Investment Advisor Representative, Registered Representative, and a licensed Life and Health Insurance agent.

Tom and his wife Erin, reside in Fishers, Indiana.  He is an active member of Holy Spirit Parish at Geist.  Tom enjoys golf, cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs, and spending time with family and friends.

Stephen J. Schug, CFP®

Steve graduated from the University of Indianapolis in 1977 with a degree in Business Administration and Economics and has been active in the financial services industry since that time.   He began a total financial planning practice in 1985 and since 1990 has been a partner in the firm Capital Analysts of the Midwest, Inc. (CAMI).

Steve obtained his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 1994 and his General Securities Principal designation in 1998.  He is a member of the Capital Analysts (national broker/dealer) Field Advisory Committee, and is a charter member and annual qualifier for Capital Analysts Circle of Excellence.

The focus of Steve's practice is on the financial, estate, and charitable planning goals of professionals, executives, business owners, and retired individuals.  His particular specialty is in meeting the needs of the “boomer” generation as they enter the retirement phase of their lives.

Steve and his wife Pam live in Pendleton, Indiana on land that has been in Pam’s family since 1822. Steve serves as his church’s Lay Leader and is active in Truth @ Work, a faith-based business organization. He has served as a Board member of the South Madison Community Foundation since 1993.  Steve enjoys biking, walking, music and golf.  Steve and Pam enjoy spending time with their five adult children and four grandchildren.

Steven M. Wylam, CFP® AIF®

A 1987 graduate of Purdue University with a BS in Consumer Financial Counseling and Planning, Steve has worked exclusively in the financial services profession.  Focusing a majority of his practice on qualified plans, he has acquired expertise on matters relating to fiduciary guidance, plan design, participant education, and investment consulting and mutual fund monitoring.  Steve also works with business owners and other higher net worth individuals who view him as their “Personal CFO”, helping them coordinate their entire financial affairs, as well as acting as a financial liaison with their other trusted advisors.

Steve received his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 1993 and is an Investment Advisor Representative.  He also holds his Series 7 license as a Registered Representative with FINRA.  In 1996, Steve became an owner with Capital Analysts of the Midwest.  In 2003, Steve formed the 401(k) team @ CAMI with Tom Mayer.  Acting together, they serve as independent advisors that adhere to a process driven model that provides customized solutions to plan sponsors regarding 401(k) plan design, fiduciary guidance, employee education and motivation, as well as investment consulting and mutual fund monitoring services.  In 2007, Steve acquired the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation.  The AIF® designation represents an individual with a thorough knowledge of and ability to apply and deliver the Global Fiduciary Standards of Excellence.

Steve and his wife, Jacqui, live in Fishers with their two daughters, Camryn and McKenna, and their miniature Labradoodle named - Jake Aspen Doodle Kaiser Wylam.
